A Sentimental Journey

Rubber Poets Society team meeting ...

This past Sunday was the latest meeting of the Rubber Poets Society, a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators led by Stephanie Luman.  And I had to miss it.  Now anyone who knows me well knows that I hate to miss these get-togethers; the ladies (we currently have no male demonstrators in our group, but give it time!) are so enjoyable and the projects can't be beat.  I was delighted to catch up with Stephanie last night (and Lois & Cindy, too!) and have the opportunity to complete the projects from the meeting.  And here they are ...

The only stamping on this first project is the flower from "Eastern Blooms" and the sentiment from "Nursery Necessities;" the rest was done with punches and a little hand tearing.  This card would accompany a gift for a new baby girl perfectly.  Now on to the next one ...

For this project, we used the "To You & Yours" stamp set and the "Bold Snowflakes" jumbo wheel.  An elegant, yet simple Christmas card.

In recent months, the third project has been provided by someone in the group.  I took a turn this month even though I couldn't attend.  You'll have to watch for it in a post later this week.  Until then ...

It's card kit time again! ...

In addition to featuring the "True Friend" stamp set and the "Clips Assortment" accessory, the November card kit also includes pieces of the "Juntos" Designer Series Paper.  But you won't find "Juntos" in the Fall-Winter 2008 Idea Book & Catalog.  Nor will you find it in the Holiday Mini Catalog.

Have you noticed the special "ESP" icons in the Idea Book & Catalog?  These identify sets that have a Spanish version.  There are, however, a few products shown only in Celebrando Creatividad, Stampin' Up!'s Spanish-language supplement.  "Juntos" Designer Series Paper is one of those products.  But don't despair.  This beautiful two-sided paper can be ordered right along with any other Stampin' Up! product.  Now onto the card kit details ...

Batty for Halloween! ...

I just had to share a photo of the Halloween pillow boxes I made to give to the neighborhood ladies at Bunco last night ...

Aren't they sweet!  I just can't get enough of the Ghostly Greetings Designer Series paper, and the pillow boxes were so easy to make with the Sizzix Big Shot for Stampin' Up! and the Pillow Box die.   And "Batty for You" has got to be my favorite Halloween stamp set ever!  I love all those cute images and matching sentiments.  With two weeks still to go until Halloween, you just may see more of both before it's all over ...

Stamps:  Big Bold Birthday

Paper:  Cardstock - So Saffron, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White; Designer Series Paper - Kiwi Kiss Patterns

Ink:  Classic - Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss

Accessories & Tools:  Pink Pirouette 5/8" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon; Stamp-a-ma-jig; Paper Snips; 1/2" Circle Punch; Crafters' Tool Kit; Silver Brads; SNAIL: Stampin' Dimensionals

Instructions:

1. Fold 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" So Saffron Cardstock in half for base card.
2. Tie 18" of Pink Pirouette 5/8" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon around front of base card.
3. Adhere 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" Kiwi Kiss Patterns Designer Series Paper to 2-5/8" x 2-5/8" Kiwi Kiss Cardstock with SNAIL.  Adhere unit to base card with SNAIL.
4. Stamp happy birthday cupcake base image in Chocolate Chip Ink on 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" Whisper White Cardstock.  Stamp cupcake top image in Pink Pirouette Ink above cupcake base image using Stamp-a-ma-jig.  Cut out cupcake with Paper Snips.  Adhere cupcake to base card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
5. Stamp flower image in Kiwi Kiss Ink on scrap Whisper White Cardstock.  Punch out using 1/2" Circle Punch.  Make hole in center of flower using paper-piercing tool from Crafters' Tool Kit.  Attach Silver Brad through hole.  Adhere flower to base card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

With it's Pink Pirouette ribbon embellishment and cupcake icing, this card would be ideal to send to any birthday girl, young or old.

Stamps:  Pun Fun

Paper:  Cardstock - Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red, Ballet Blue, Whisper White; Designer Series Paper - Summer Picnic

Ink:  Stazon - Jet Black; Classic - Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red, Ballet Blue

Accessories & Tools:  Pumpkin Pie 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon; Punches - Star, Large Star; Crafters' Tool Kit; Aquapainters; SNAIL; Stampin' Dimensionals; Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive

Instructions:

1. Fold 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Pumpkin Pie Cardstock in half for base card.
2. Adhere 4" x 3-1/2" Rose Red Cardstock to back of 4" x 2" Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper, overlapping 1/4."  Cover seam with 5-1/4" piece of Pumpkin Pie 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, securing ends to back with SNAIL.  Adhere unit to base card with SNAIL.
3. Take 4" x 3" Pumpkin Pie Cardstock and, with paper-piercing tool from Crafters' Tool Kit, pierce two rows of holes along 3" end.  Adhere to base card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
4. Stamp rocket image with "You're a blast!" sentiment in Jet Black StazOn onto 2" x 1-3/4" Whisper White Cardstock.  Watercolor with Bashful Blue, More Mustard, and Rose Red Classic Ink and Aquapainters.  Adhere to 2-1/4" x 2" Rose Red Cardstock with SNAIL.  Adhere unit to base card with SNAIL.
5. With Star Punch, punch small star from 2-1/2" X 3" Ballet Blue Cardstock, leaving room to punch large star around small star.  With Large Star Punch, punch out small star and also punch large star from 2-1/2" x 3" Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper.  Adhere double-punched Ballet Blue star over top DSP star using Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive.  Adhere star to base card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Don't you think this card would be perfect for a boy's birthday?  Perhaps the inside sentiment could be, "I hope your birthday is a blast, too!"

You make me smile pillow box ...

Here's a simple Halloween gift that you can make in minutes.  It's easy with the Big Shot for Stampin' Up! and the Pillow Box Die plus these instructions courtesy of Stampin' Up! ...

Paper:  Cardstock - Kiwi Kiss, So Saffron, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White

Ink:  Classic - Basic Black, Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango; Craft - Whisper White

Accessories & Tools:  White Stampin' Emboss Powder, Basic Black 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Tangerine Tango 5/8" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, So Saffron 7/8" Poly-Twill Ribbon, Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware, Chills & Thrills Rub-Ons, Stampin' Dimensionals, Crafters' Tool Kit, Sizzix Big Shot, Pillow Box Big Die, Scallop Edge Punch, Tag Punch, 1" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Crochet Thread, Staples

Instructions:

1. Cut pillow box from Kiwi Kiss Cardstock using Big Shot and Pillow Box Die, and assemble.
2. Tie Tangerine Tango 5/8" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon around pillow box.
3. Pierce row of holes around So Saffron Cardstock using paper-piercing tool from Crafters' Tool Kit and adhere to pillow box.
4. Stamp pumpkin image in Basic Black, Kiwi Kiss, and Pumpkin Pie Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, and punch out Kiwi Kiss image using 1-3/4" Circle Punch.
5. Cut out brackets from Basic Black image, and adhere to circle using Stampin' Dimensionals.
6. Create other pillow boxes as desired.
7. To create box, apply rub-on to box using wooden applicator included in packaging.
