Close as a memory ...

I recently added "Close As A Memory" to my collection since I didn't really have a good sympathy stamp set.  And it was none too soon.  The father-in-law of a dear friend just passed away and I made this card today to send to her ...

It's my take on this catalog sample from page 70 of the Fall-Winter 2008 Idea Book & Catalog.  Basically, I substituted a chipboard square scallop frame I have in abundance from an earlier demonstrator bulk buy for the round scallop frame from On Board Lots of Letters (and made it a vertical card rather than a horizontal one).  I plan to make up a batch of these so I'm prepared when another one is needed.  You just never know when that's going to be now do you?

Stamps:  Love You Much Stamp Set

Paper:  Card Stock - Whisper White 8-1/2" x 11", Close to Cocoa 8-1/2" x 11", Riding Hood Red 8-1/2" x 11", Pink Pirouette 8-1/2" x 11"

Ink: Classic - Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Chip Refill; Versamark

Tools & Accessories:  Stampin' Around Cartridge Un-Inked Jumbo, Uni-Ball Signo White Gel Pen, Dotto, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals, Punch Scallop Circle, Jumbo Wheel Whimsy, Riding Hood Red 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Punch Heart-To-Heart

Instructions:

1. Print SAB box pattern (Download SAB_box_pattern) on sheet of Close to Cocoa Card Stock.
2. Create heart pattern by punching three hearts from scrap paper using Heart-To-Heart Punch.
3. Stamp three hearts image in VersaMark Ink on each side of box pattern.  Match up heart pattern with VersaMark hearts and temporarily adhere pattern, wheel Whimsy image over pattern in Chocolate Chip Ink.  Repeat on each side of box pattern.
4. Cut out box pattern (cut off top) and assemble box.
5. Stamp "hugs & kisses" scallop circle image in Chocolate Chip Ink on Close to Cocoa, Pink Pirouette, and Riding Hood Red Card Stock (3" x 3").  Punch out Close to Cocoa image using Scallop Circle Punch.  Color in circles on scallops using White Gel Pen.  Cut out circle from Pink Pirouette Card Stock and adhere to Close to Cocoa image.  Cut out heart from Riding Hood Red Card Stock and adhere to Pink Pirouette circle using Stampin' Dimensionals.  Adhere layered scallop circle to stick.
6. Stamp "friend to friend" in Chocolate Chip Ink on Whisper White Card Stock (1-1/2" x 1/4").  Adhere to stick.
7. Tie Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon in a knot and adhere to stick.

Ink:  Classic - Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red; StazOon - Jet Black

Instructions:

1. Adhere Candy Lane Designer Series Paper (4" x 1") to front of Kraft gift note.
2. Tie Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon around front of gift note.
3. Stamp birds and "friend to friend" in Jet Black StazOn Ink on Very Vanilla Card Stock (1-7/8" x 1-5/8").  Watercolor birds with Pink Pirouette Classic Ink using blender pens.  Adhere to Riding Hood Red Card Stock (2" x 2-3/4") and adhere unit to gift note using Stampin' Dimensionals.
