Halloween banner ...

Just in time for your Halloween decor, here's the latest banner for the Occasions Banner Club ...

The colors for the panels ... Basic Black, Perfect Plum, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive ... were chosen because they are the coordinating colors for the Cast-A-Spell Designer Series Paper featured throughout.  Decorative accents were created with numerous punches and several Big Shot accessories, namely the Serif Essentials, Naturally Serif and Top Note dies, as well as one of the Texturz Backgrounds 1 plates.  Embellishments include Assorted Clips, Metal Edge Tags, Earth Elements Brads, Silver Brads, and coordinating 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon.

Given that this holiday is coming up fast (in fact, I've already seen Halloween decor in some of my neighbors homes), I'm only offering this banner as a kit to make at home (aka "Projects To Go").  All of the supplies you need (except adhesive, which can be purchased separately) and instructions will be available for local pick up or, for those of you who don't live in the Greater-Cincinnati area, can be shipped right to your door.  Cost is $30 (plus postage, if applicable).

Christmas card kit for October ...

It may just be beginning to feel like Fall here in the midwest United States (West Chester, Ohio, to be specific), but it's not too soon to begin handcrafting Christmas cards.  And so, this month's card kit features TWO stamp sets, "Berry Christmas" and "Four The Holidays," plus the "Red Bead Duo" accessory.  AND it also includes the new "Mistletoe" Ribbon Originals from the Holiday Mini Catalog (page 33)!

Pictured here are two card designs.  With your kit, you'll get all the consumable supplies to create six of each of these two card designs for a total of twelve cards (with envelopes).  Purchase the kit for $20 (plus postage, if applicable), and receive two additional full color "alternative" card designs you can make with the combined contents of your kit.  In addition, you'll receive step-by-step instructions on how to complete each of the four card designs.

On the gorge ...

I'll be whitewater rafting these gorgeous West Virginia waters this weekend courtesy of Class VI so it will be a bit quiet here at www.stampedsentiments.com.  During my absence, my dear husband will be taking care of our pets and my thoughtful brother will be looking after my parents (that's my day job, for those who didn't already know that).  Next week I'll be back to stamping once again.  Until then ...

Medallion best wishes ...

When I told my husband that we'd been invited to a shower for my nephew's upcoming wedding, his response was, "Guys don't go to those."  But when I explained that there'd be drink, food and cornhole (not to mention what fun my sister-in-law's family can be!), he was in.  Well, we had a blast.  And now my husband can add another first to his list of firsts ... a wedding shower.

We got the happy couple a gift from their registry at Bed, Bath & Beyond, but the gift packaging provided by the store was a bit too generic ...

I just had to handcraft a card to match ...

Another Stampin' Up! makeover ...

Continuing with the theme of my previous post, this is the card my husband received from his mother for his recent birthday ...

And this is it after a Stampin' Up! makeover ...

Stamps:  Inspired By Nature, Sense of Time

Paper:  Cardstock - Bravo Burgundy, Brushed Copper (Retired)

Ink:  VersaMark

Tools & Accessories:  Embossing Buddy; Classy Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder (Retired); Heat Tool; SNAIL; Stampin' Dimensionals

I really had to take some liberties with this makeover to stick with using only what I had on hand ... For starters, I didn't have the Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder so I chose Classy Copper instead; unfortunately, it's no longer available.  And since I was using the copper powder, I used the Brushed Copper Cardstock, also no longer available.

Then my only wheat stamp was too small so I used the coneflower image from "Inspired By Nature."  And, because I didn't have an appropriate large sentiment like the "For You, Son" to go with the smaller sentiment I chose to use from "Sense of Time," I added the copper cardstock layers to the card, popping the sentiment up on Stampin' Dimensionals, to give it more visual weight.  I was quite pleased with the result.

A Stampin' Up! makeover ...

Have you ever seen a store-bought card and thought, "I could do that!"? ... I have.  In fact, I've been known to take a picture with my cell phone camera of a cute card or gift bag I've seen in a store so I could copy it later.  The problem is that "later" never seems to come.

So today, before the cards from my husband's recent birthday get taken down from the fireplace mantle, I've given them a Stampin' Up! makeover, using only product that I have on hand in my workshop to create a copy.

This first card was from his sister ...

And this is it after a Stampin' Up! makeover ...

Stamps:  Season of Friendship, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Paper:  Cardstock - Certainly Celery, More Mustard, Very Vanilla

Ink:  VersaMark

Tools & Accessories:  Scoring Tool (Non-SU); Embossing Buddy; Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder; Heat Tool; Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Marker; Metallic Eyelets; Crop-a-dile; SNAIL

Since I didn't have any Designer Series Paper with a monocromatic stripe, I randomly scored the card front to create a similar look.  My first choice for the tree would have been Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder, but since I didn't have any of that I used VersaMark Ink and Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder.  And I chose a completely different sentiment because, quite frankly, neither of my brothers is celebrating a birthday anytime soon, but a friend of ours has just retired.

Halloween treat box ...

It's only early September, but thoughts are already turning to Fall and that means Halloween is just around the corner.  Why not make up a batch of these cute treat boxes for your little ghosts and goblins ...

Stamps:  Pumpkin Patch (from Holiday Mini Catalog)

Paper:  Cardstock - Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White

Ink:  Classic - Basic Black, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie

Tools & Accessories:  Treat Box Pattern, Sticky Strip, Stampin' Dimensionals

Instructions:

1. Using Treat Box Pattern (see link provided above), trace or print pattern on Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, then cut out and score.
2. Stamp grass image in Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink on unassembled box.  Assemble box with Sticky Strip.
3. Stamp pumpkin image in Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink, face and stem images in Chocolate Chip Classic Ink, and grass and curly vine images in Old Olive Classic Ink on Whisper White Cardstock.  Adhere to treat box using Stampin' Dimensionals.
4. Stamp "from our patch to yours" sentiment in Basic Black Classic Ink on top of treat box.
