New Feature: Sunday Swap Share ...

My stampin' studio is becoming overrun with "swaps," cards and other items I've gotten in trade at various stamping events I've attended, yet others seldom get to see them.  Rather than keep them to myself, I've decided they should be shared.

And so, I'm introducing a new feature at Stamped Sentiments, the "Sunday Swap Share!" ...

There was no supply list provided so I have no details to share other than the obvious ... this card by fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator LuAnn Dehne uses the "Faith in Nature" hostess set (page 13 of 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog) for its focal point.  Be inspired!

Autumn birthday wishes ...

I need to send a few birthday cards so today I stamped two different designs, both using the "Day of Gratitude" Stamp Set I received at the Regional Seminar I recently attended.

The first card is a direct copy of one of the seminar make-n-takes (minus the Basic Pearls which I don't yet have), except I substituted a birthday sentiment for the gratitude sentiment ...

Stamps:  Day of Gratitude, Occasional Quotes (Level 3 Hostess)

Paper:  Cardstock - Old Olive, Very Vanilla

Ink:  Classic - Old Olive

Tools & Accessories:  Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon; Decorative Label Punch; Stampin' Dimensionals

The second card is a near copy of one by fellow demonstrator, Janet Hill.  I really liked the pattern she chose from the Autumn Spice Specialty Designer Series Paper so I chose it as well.  I also liked her layout with the three identical images in three different colors and the torn paper, but I opted to embellish my card with ribbon; her card had buttons ...

Paper:  Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Old Olive; Designer Series Paper - Autumn Spice Specialty

Decorative Label Punch layered ...

In this post, I promised to share how to make a background layer for the Decorative Label Extra-Large Punch on page 25 of the Holiday Mini Catalog.  Well, here's a step-by-step tutorial for you to follow ...

First, stamp the foreground image/sentiment on cardstock and punch it out with the Decorative Label Extra-Large Punch ...

Second, punch out two of the same color cardstock with the Decorative Label Extra-Large Punch; these two pieces will be used to make the background layer ...

Next, cut approximately 1/2" off each long edge of one of the punch outs with Paper Snips ...

Next, cut the other punch out in half ...

Then cut each half into a triangle of sorts ...

Apply SNAIL to both long edges of the back of the stamped punch out, then adhere the 1/2" cut cardstock pieces ...

Apply SNAIL to both short edges of the back of the stamped punch out, then adhere the triangle cardstock pieces ...

Your Decorative Label now has a background!  And here it is on the completed card ...

Paper:  Cardstock - Old Olive, Cajun Craze, More Mustard; Designer Series Paper - Autumn Spice

Ink:  Classic - Early Espresso

An Autumn hello ...

Pardon my recent absence from posting more regularly, but I've been busy getting some things in order for a few upcoming events.

First up is the Stampin' Up! Regional Seminar I'm attending in Baltimore, Maryland this Saturday.  I'm really looking forward to a day filled with watching stamping demonstrations by Stampin' Up! staff and local demonstrators, practicing paper-crafting and stamping techniques, and swapping with fellow demonstrators.  I can't think of a better way to spend World Cardmaking Day!  And speaking of swaps, here's one of several different designs I've made for swapping ...
