As I was cutting cardstock for January's "Stamp Set of the Month" free kits last week, I decided to cut a few extra to create yet another card design that could be made with the kits ...

On your wedding day ...

I've wanted to give this card a Stampin' Up! makeover ever since I received it from my sister-in-law for my birthday late last year ...

And here's my handcrafted "copy" ...

Paper:  Cardstock - Bashful Blue, Very Vanilla

Ink:  Classic - Real Red, Always Artichoke; StazOn - Jet Black

Tools & Accessories:  Aquapainters; Styled Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware; 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon - Real Red, Very Vanilla; Adhesive - SNAIL, Mini Glue Dots

I chose to watercolor the floral image with more natural colors so it seemed appropriate to eliminate the sparkly embossing, too.  Have you stamped today?

Vintage Labels showcase ...

With just days remaining to get free Sale-A-Bration products, I focused a recent stampin' session on one I ordered for my own use, the Vintage Labels stamp set.

As far as I was concerned, this stamp set was a must-have.  And with all the inspiring projects I've seen created by other stampers that I wanted to duplicate, I had no trouble coming up with these projects.

First up, a CASE of a card posted by Stampin' Up!'s Co-Founder and CEO, Shelli Gardner.  So elegant, perfect for a wedding ...

Wedding best wishes ...

One of my nephews was married yesterday.  Here is the card I made to accompany the gift for he and his bride ...

Stamps:  Oval All

Paper:  Cardstock - Lavender Lace, Old Olive, Going Gray, Whisper White; Textured Cardstock - Elegant Eggplant

Ink:  Classic - Elegant Eggplant

Tools & Accessories:  Big Shot; Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plates; Punches - Scallop Oval, Large Oval, 3/16" Corner Rounder; Pretties Kit; SNAIL; Stampin' Dimensionals

Once again, my color choices were dictated by the gift wrap and ribbon provided by Bed, Bath & Beyond (see previous shower gift post here).  However, this time it was a gray, floral gift bag (think garbage bag, but prettier) so I added the gray scalloped oval to tie that color in.  And I thought the Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plate was similar in style to the "best wishes" image from the Oval All stamp set so I wanted to use that, too.  Otherwise, I thought the card would be much too plain.

Medallion best wishes ...

When I told my husband that we'd been invited to a shower for my nephew's upcoming wedding, his response was, "Guys don't go to those."  But when I explained that there'd be drink, food and cornhole (not to mention what fun my sister-in-law's family can be!), he was in.  Well, we had a blast.  And now my husband can add another first to his list of firsts ... a wedding shower.

We got the happy couple a gift from their registry at Bed, Bath & Beyond, but the gift packaging provided by the store was a bit too generic ...

I just had to handcraft a card to match ...
